Responsibilities
ABAP & SAP Development
- ABAP OO, modularization, exception handling, performance tuning.
- ABAP Dictionary, CDS consumption basics, enhancements (BAdI/User Exit/Enhancement Framework), RFC/BAPI
- Debugging skills (new debugger), dumps/trace analysis (ST22, SAT/SE30, ST05)
Governance & Quality
- ABAP coding standards & guidelines definition and enforcement
- Code review practices, secure coding and clean code principles
- Clean Core understanding: keeping the core stable, minimizing modifications, governance for Z-objects
Landscape/Architecture Oversight
- Ability to assess technical risks, redundancies, and consistency across multiple SAP projects
- Design authority for technical patterns and reference architectures (ABAP extensions, UI strategy, integration approach)
Collaboration & Enablement
- Technical leadership/mentoring, running trainings, creating best-practice documentation
- Strong communication with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Basis/platform teams
Good to Have – Specific Skills
SAP BTP
- SAP BTP extension concepts (side-by-side), service selection and governance
- Integration exposure: SAP Integration Suite/CPI, API management, event-based patterns (where applicable)
- Familiarity with BTP dev tools (e.g., BAS), identity/auth basics (IAS/IPS), destination/service consumption concepts
SAP Fiori / UI5
- Fiori architecture and deployment concepts, Fiori Launchpad basics
- UI5/Fiori development understanding (OData consumption, UX consistency, app standardization)
- Experience with replacing/retiring classic Z-transactions with Fiori apps
S/4HANA Modernization

- Custom code adaptation for S/4HANA, simplification item impact awareness
- Experience with remediation planning and technical debt reduction programs
- Exposure to RAP, Business Application studio would be added advantage

Professional Expertise
