Production Operator – Night Shift
Compaction / Metal Axis / Sintering / Sizing Miba Sinter USA LLC , Production Shifts Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

About the Role
Miba Sinter USA LLC is hiring Production Operators to join our night shift team. Successful candidates will be assigned to one of our key production departments — Compaction, Metal Axis, Sintering, or Sizing — based on business needs, candidate experience, and skill fit. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided for the assigned area. 

In some cases, candidates who are a strong cultural and reliability fit but who are better suited to a different role may be placed in our Packing/Assembly department. This alternate placement carries the same starting pay rate, same shift schedule, and same supervisor, with a different focus on inspection, packaging, rework, sorting, and supporting assembly operations. Final placement is determined during onboarding.
This is a hands-on role focused on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement, supporting Miba's mission of "Technologies for a cleaner planet."

Shift Details

Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: Night shift, rotating days as scheduled
Department assignment: Compaction, Metal Axis, Sintering, or Sizing (determined during onboarding)

*Alternate placement available in Packing/Assembly (determined during onboarding)

Core Responsibilities (All Departments)

  • Operate equipment and/or perform inspection and packaging in the assigned area
  • Ensure productive runtime and meet production/throughput targets
  • Identify, contain, and reduce scrap
  • Follow company policies, employee handbook, production instructions, failure catalogs, work instructions, guidelines, and quality alerts
  • Use digital and manual systems to collect and record production data
  • Perform quality control activities and inspect/package parts according to production instructions (upon certification)
  • Use lean tools to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of the work area
  • Submit continuous improvement ideas to the Area Supervisor
  • Attend and complete assigned trainings
  • Escalate problems as needed
  • Comply with all safety standards
  • Stop processes when a deviation is detected
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Compaction
  • Operate compaction press equipment
  • Monitor part quality and machine output during pressing operations
  • Support tool changes and minor adjustments under supervision
Metal Axis
  • Operate Metal Axis machinery
  • Monitor automated production cells and ensure consistent output
  • Conduct in-process quality checks during runtime
Sintering
  • Operate sintering furnace equipment and supporting systems
  • Monitor furnace operation and product flow
  • Conduct in-process quality checks on sintered parts
  • Perform autonomous maintenance activities as scheduled
Sizing
  • Operate sizing press equipment
  • Monitor part dimensions and machine output
  • Conduct in-process quality checks during runtime
  • Perform autonomous maintenance activities as scheduled
Packing / Assembly (alternate placement — same shift pattern)
  • Inspect and package parts according to production instructions
  • Manually rework nonconforming product
  • Sort nonconforming material
  • Inspect and pack at standard rates
  • Operate assembly-area machines (e.g., Assembly, Laser Marking)
  • Assemble parts according to production instructions

Required Knowledge
Mathematics: General arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals)
Metric Measurement: Ability to measure using the metric scale
Production & Processing: Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing costs
Mechanical (Operator placements): Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

  • Willingness and ability to work the full 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM night shift
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery and pallet jacks
Authorizations (granted upon training/certification)
  • Stop processes when a deviation is detected
  • Inspect and package parts per production instructions
  • Operate manual and electric pallet jacks
  • Operate production-floor vending machines (PPE, tooling)
